On September 14th and 15th, 2022, the 13th VDI Conference “Sewage Sludge Treatment” took place in Koblenz, Germany. This year technical innovations for dewatering and drying sewage sludge as well as experiences with sewage sludge mono-incineration and new strategies and project results for P-recycling were presented in addition to the implementation of new legal developments. Other topics included optimization of anaerobic sludge stabilization and dewatering, challenges of sustainable phosphorus management, and experiences with cooperation models and inter-municipal cooperation.
On Thursday, September 15th, FlashPhos Project Coordinator Matthias Rapf from the University of Stuttgart spoke at the 13th VDI symposium on sewage sludge disposal and resource use.
