The DWA KlärschlammTage (Sewage Sludge Days) is a key biennial conference for the sewage sludge sector in Germany and neighbouring countries. In June 2025, the event once again brought together professionals and decision-makers from the fields of water management, waste treatment, energy supply, municipal administration, and engineering services.
Over three days, the conference featured expert presentations and a technical exhibition, providing a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in sewage sludge treatment, regulatory frameworks, and innovative technologies. The event served as a platform for sharing best practices and strategic perspectives on sustainable sludge management and phosphorus recovery.
We’re proud that Lukas Pohl from the University of Stuttgart provided insights into the methodology for calculating sewage sludge compositions developed within the FlashPhos project and offered a forward-looking perspective on resource recovery potential from these materials.
We’re excited to continue contributing to the dialogue around sustainable and circular approaches for phosphorus recovery!
