The 16th VDI Conference on Sewage Sludge Treatment took place from 10–11 September 2025 in Bad Soden, Germany, with a special pre-conference day on sludge drying on 9 September.
The conference focused on the implementation of the German Sewage Sludge Ordinance and its implications for phosphorus recovery. Key topics included technical solutions for mechanical and thermal sludge treatment, dewatering, drying technologies, mono-incineration, and nutrient recovery from sludge and ash.
