High Temperature Solid Looping Cycles (HTSLC) Network Meeting
The meeting, organized by the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEAGHG), covered technology developments in fields where a solid material is cycled in multiple reactors at elevated temperatures. The scope of the HTSLC Network in general is to discuss recent progress in solids looping cycles such as Calcium Looping, Chemical Looping Combustion, Sorption Enhanced Reforming and Water Gas shift, Chemical Looping Reforming, Calcium/Chemical looping gasification to decrease the carbon-footprint of energy intensive processes.
The Cleanker Calcium looping pilot plant
Participating in the HTSLC network meeting also gave the opportunity to visit the first entrained- flow reactor Calcium Looping pilot plant, integrated in the Buzzi Unicem cement plant sited in the Vernasca municipality. The pilot plant has been developed and is being tested in the framework of the Cleanker H2020 project: www.cleanker.eu
