In the framework of the Raw Materials Week 2025 in Brussels, the European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform (ESPP) organized two high-level workshops on:
• Phosphorus as a Critical Raw Material
• White Phosphorus (P₄)
Phosphorus is essential for food security, agriculture, and key industries, yet Europe remains almost entirely import-dependent. Join us to explore how to secure EU supply, boost recycling, and discuss whether P₄ should be recognised as a Strategic Raw Material under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act.
Christian Schmidberger from FlashPhos coordinator University of Stuttgart and Carlos Galeano from project partner Italmatch participated in the session on white phosphorus, presenting the background and current progress of FlashPhos and contributing to the final panel discussion.

It was great to engage with so many stakeholders from policy and industry, as well as exchanging with similar EU projects!
