From July 6–9, Ayumi Schober (University of Stuttgart) attended the 9th European Drying Conference in Wageningen, The Netherlands.
Already being the 9th edition, Eurodrying aimed to expand on the positive interaction within the drying community and continue the dialogue between both drying experts in academia and industry. The conference included a scientific program with keynote lectures of prominent researchers in the drying community and plenary presentations and poster sessions on cutting-edge research covering a variety of drying-related topics. Industrial drying experts were invited to present their latest innovations & developments in the drying technology field as well. The conference offered the possibility to visit research & industrial equipment manufacturing facilities and various companies presented themselves via exhibitions.
Ayumi presented a poster on “Improving Pulverized Sewage Sludge Production With Cement Kiln Dust”, sparking engaging discussions with researchers and industry experts.
Even though the main focus wasn’t on sewage sludge, the conference offered valuable insights and plenty of inspiration. It was a great opportunity to think outside the box and draw exciting parallels to the FlashPhos process – especially regarding potential improvements in our dryer-grinder setup.
